At 8.0, the Sheridan has nothing going for it. It’s slower than a Leopard. Your gun has the longest reload of any 8.0 vehicle. Your missiles can be dodged. Despite all this, I’ve loved playing it.

Without HE explosions looks weird, but everything except it is good.
I'm one of the poor sods who has the Sheridan but not the Shillelagh, and even with HEAT shells to add to the tank's shittiness, I do still somehow enjoy using the aluminium box too.
